I started a series called video writing prompts on my other site, KatieDavis.com in order to show writers different ways writers can use video. I promised to explain how to use a green screen, too.
There are places you can buy ready made green screens like this one:
Or you can go to an office supply store and buy a bunch of poster board in the color you see above, duct tape them together, and tape to the wall. Then you shoot your video in front of the green screen. Note that the screen shouldn’t have an wrinkles in it, or it will ruin the effect.
In my Video Idiot Boot Camp group coaching sessions I explain how to remove the background through whatever editing software you’re using via the chromakey setting and you can just play around with that or simply look it up on YouTube.
